Rohomon Risk Mitigation is headed by Abs Rohomon BEM.
Abs is a highly experienced and qualified professional, who retired from West Midlands Police in 2021 having served 30 years as a Police Officer.
His service was conducted wholly in Birmingham City Centre and for the last 20 years of which he was the Lead Licensing Officer for West Midlands Police in Birmingham City Centre.
During his service Abs became known as a firm but fair Licensing Officer, having dealt with many issues in licensed premises and assisting in resolving situations for responsible operators.
Through his years of service Abs was pivotal in the planning and organisation of many events. These have varied from the largest events (Frankfurt Christmas Market, reopening of New Street Station, Rugby World Cup) to local independent events.
He was well regarded within West Midlands Police for his training skills; training new licensing officers, neighbourhood officers, senior officers, and legal services. He also provided training for outside agencies and licensed premises.
Abs served on the National Police Chiefs Council (Licensing Group) for over ten years, taking on the role of vice chair for the final two years. The role of the group was to advise on licensing from a police perspective - working with police forces around the country as well as the Home Office and others.
During his service as a licensing officer Abs received many accolades for his work. Most notably he was awarded the British Empire Medal in The Queen’s New Years Honours List 2019 for Services to Policing and Licensing.
